The Mission Hill post office will officially close on Saturday, June 29, leaving residents outraged.

Stephen Doherty, a spokesman for USPS, confirmed the closure at 1575 Tremont St. on Friday, saying the postal service notified P.O. Box customers they were transferring them to the post office at 55 Roxbury St. in Nubian Square.

According to Google Maps, the post office is about a 20-minute walk or 10-minute drive from the Mission Hill location.

Doherty did not explain why the post office is closing and said USPS has no plans to open a new location at this time.

On a Reddit post, residents slammed the Nubian Square location, saying it’s an “absolute horror show,” with many having to wait hours in line for service.

Others suggested people bypass the post office, complete their orders online, and get free pickups.

Another, who said “Nubian is the worst post office ever,” says they walk 45 minutes to the South End just to avoid it.
