Roxbury woman hit by car and killed after surviving deer crash in Braintree

The fatal sequence of events occurred on Route 3 northbound early Sunday morning.

A Roxbury woman was hit by a car and killed after surviving a collision with a deer on Route 3 in Braintree, State Police said.

Magdalena Desrosiers, 35, was traveling northbound on Route 3 in a Toyota RAV4 early Sunday morning. She was riding as a passenger, while a 63-year-old Roxbury man drove. The Toyota struck a deer and stopped in the right lane, police said. The vehicle’s two occupants got out to assess the damage to the car.

A Jaguar F-PACE SUV traveling in the right lane approached the site of the crash. An initial investigation indicates that the Jaguar swerved into the breakdown lane to avoid colliding with the Toyota, police said. The Jaguar struck Desrosiers.
