After the Celtics clinched the NBA Championship Monday night, hundreds of fans flocked to the area outside TD Garden to celebrate. A police officer was injured in the chaotic scene, and eight people were arrested in total.

That includes six adults and two juvenile males, a Boston police spokesperson said Tuesday morning. The juveniles are facing charges including affray, disturbing the peace, and trespassing. The adults are facing charges including disorderly conduct, malicious destruction of property, and assaulting a police officer. That officer suffered nonlife-threatening injuries.

Social media was flooded with video of raucous Celtics fans celebrating after the game. At one point, multiple people climbed on top of a BPD vehicle. Video showed a few officers trying in vain to convince them to get down.

When asked about the incident, the spokesperson said that there were no police reports about damage to BPD vehicles.

Elsewhere, fans dangled from street signs and scaled traffic signals. Video showed multiple people falling, but police did not report any injuries. Other people can be seen tearing off street signs and brandishing them triumphantly.

Instead of climbing onto existing structures, some fans brought their own ladder and ascended it.
