Dust off the duck boats, folks! The Celtics captured their 18th NBA Championship in a Game 5 win over the Dallas Mavericks Monday, bringing the city its first title in six years.
Mayor Michelle Wu announced Tuesday morning that Boston will celebrate the victory with a rolling rally, the traditional duck boat parade.

The parade will start at 11 a.m. on Friday in front of TD Garden on Causeway Street, pass through City Hall Plaza and the Boston Common down Tremont Street, and end on Boylston Street by the Hynes Convention Center.
The Celtics have played 101 games during the 2023-24 season, including the playoffs.
These guys need a break.
According to the Boston Globe‘s Gary Washburn, the Celtics are headed to Miami for the next few days to party before returning to Boston for celebrations amongst fans.

Mayor Wu declared a three-day heat emergency from Tuesday until Thursday, as temperatures are expected to peak near 100 degrees in the city.
“Heat waves are a risk to our community, so everyone should make sure to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activity when possible, wear plenty of sunscreen, and check on your neighbors and loved ones,” Wu said in a statement Monday.
Temperatures on Friday are expected to dip, with highs reaching just 83 degrees and chances of late afternoon showers offering a cool-down.
Wu is expected to discuss public safety preparations at a 1:30 p.m. press conference on Tuesday at City Hall.
