A Haverhill school staff member is accused of sending pornography to a 16-year-old student.
Justin Smith, 25, an education support professional, was arraigned Friday in Haverhill District Court on criminal charges, including two felony counts of distributing obscene matter to a minor, Boston 25 reported.
Smith, who is reportedly employed at Gateway Academy, was arrested Thursday after allegedly sending the images to a 16-year-old student at the school.
Smith’s bail was set at $4,000 and he was ordered to stay away from the alleged victim and have no contact with minors. He was also ordered to stay away from schools and to adhere to the parameters of GPS home confinement.
Smith is due back at Haverhill District Court for a pre-trial hearing on July 8.
