Dorchester homicide victim identified as Taunton woman, investigation ongoing

27-year-old Pereshah Shear-Yashub was found with life threatening gunshot wounds on Edson Street on May 31.

The woman shot and killed in Dorchester last month has been identified as a 27-year-old from Taunton, Boston police announced Wednesday.

Pereshah Shear-Yashub was found with life threatening gunshot wounds near 36 Edson Street on May 31. She was transported to a local hospital, where she later died.

Shear-Yashub leaves behind her mother and multiple siblings, according to a brief obituary.
