A 23-year-old Bridgewater man is dead after a pickup truck he was driving Monday hit a tree in Middleborough and flipped over into marsh water, ejecting him into a small brook in the process.
The crash occurred just before noon on Fuller Street, near the Middleborough/Halifax town line, according to local police. The victim, who has not been publicly identified, was allegedly driving at a “high rate of speed” before the crash; he was the only one in the 2015 white GMC pickup and died at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
