1 dead after double stabbing in Brockton, no suspects arrested

The incident does not appear to be a random act of violence, the district attorney said.

One person died in a double stabbing at a Brockton home Monday, officials said. 

Police have not arrested a suspect in the incident but an investigation is ongoing, according to Brockton police spokesperson Darren Duarte. 

State Police were notified of a double stabbing at 23 Melrose Ave. at about 7:40 p.m. Monday, District Attorney Tim Cruz said in a post on X. 

Two men were transported to area hospitals, where one victim was pronounced dead, Cruz said. 

The incident does not appear to be a random act of violence, Cruz added. 

Duarte said the D.A.’s office is handling the investigation into the incident. No further information was released.
