Police searching for person who left emaciated pup tied to guardrail in Revere

“She is skin and bones.”

Authorities in Revere are asking for the public’s help finding the person who tied an emaciated dog to a guardrail on Route 1A last week, abandoning it.

Police said the dog was found on the northbound side of the road between Jackson and York streets on the morning of May 29th.

Lisa Cutting, owner of Oceanview Kennel & Pet Resort, echoed the plea from authorities in a post on Facebook, asking the public for help finding those responsible.

“She is skin and bones,” Cutting wrote. “Somebody needs to be held responsible.”

On Thursday, Cutting wrote that the dog, who she is calling ‘Miracle,’ had her first visit with a veterinarian.

“Good news is I’m heartworm negative,” Cutting wrote on the dog’s behalf. “I could use some weight as the doctor said between a scale from three to nine three being the worst I’m a three.”

The dog is about 7 months old and weighs about 31 pounds. Cutting said she’ll be on a special diet to make sure her body can handle eating after reaching such a point of malnutrition and emaciation.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact Revere detectives at 781-656-1131 ext. 60342 or by submitting a tip anonymously by texting REVEREPD to 847411 (tip411).
