Police are investigating after a woman was fatally shot in Mattapan Friday night, officials said.
Boston police were called to the area of 36 Edson St. at about 11:17 p.m. Friday for reports of a person shot, the department said in a statement.
The woman was taken to a local hospital with life threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead, the statement said.
The Boston Police Department is investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at (617) 343 – 4470. Anonymous tips can be called in at 1(800) 494 – TIPS or by texting “TIP” to 27464.
