A motorcyclist lost control of his vehicle and fatally crashed on I-90 in Auburn on Sunday.
Officials responded to the scene shortly after 4 p.m. and declared the motorcyclist dead at the scene, according to Massachusetts State Police.
Police later identified the motorcyclist as John Huff, 64, of Queens Village, New York. A preliminary investigation indicated that Huff was traveling eastbound on I-90 when he hit a guardrail and was ejected from the vehicle.
State Police are still investigating the crash, including why Huff may have lost control of his motorcycle.
Authorities shut down the left travel lane during the preliminary investigation and cleanup of the scene.
Charleston fire and EMS, the Department of Transportation, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner assisted at the scene.
