Two people sustained gunshot wounds and injuries Thursday night at Donnelly Field, according to the Cambridge police.
At 9:39 p.m., officers responded to reports of multiple gunshots at the park, located at 91 Berkshire St.
Police found two injured Cambridge residents, a 23-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, according to a statement. They transported both individuals to the hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.
The woman was discovered in the basketball courts, while the man was found a short distance away on Willow Street, the statement said. No other injuries were reported.
Multiple shell casings were discovered at the scene by the police. Detectives are currently investigating the incident, and no arrests have been made.
Cambridge police stated that they believe this was an isolated event. However, out of caution, additional staffing and patrols will be allocated to the area.
