A man charged in connection with a murder in Fall River was arrested in Connecticut Thursday, officials said.
Lee George-Maldonado, 28, will face charges of murder, carrying a firearm without a license, attempt to commit a crime, kidnapping with a firearm, and two counts of armed assault and battery in Massachusetts, the U.S. Marshals said.
George-Maldonado is charged in connection to the Dec. 23, 2023, killing of 44-year-old Juan Castro outside his Bank Street home. According to the Bristol County District Attorney at the time, Castro was pronounced dead at the scene.
In January, 22-year-old Angel Fabian Robles was charged in connection to the fatal shooting. All charges against him were dropped in April, according to court records.
Fall River police secured a warrant for George-Maldonado’s arrest on May 17, and the U.S. Marshals Service arrested him in Willimantic, Connecticut. He will remain in custody pending extradition to Massachusetts.
