Animal control officials impounded a dog after he attacked and bit four people at a Brighton apartment building Tuesday, officials said.
Boston police responded to Faneuil Gardens at 85 Faneuil St. in Brighton around 10:30 p.m., a representative for the department said. Police said four people suffering non-life threatening injuries were transported to a local hospital.
Boston Animal Care and Control got to the scene around 11:11 p.m., where a “pit bull-type” dog named King was secured in the back of a Boston police cruiser, a Parks and Recreation official said. The animal control officer took custody of King, a a 2-year-old male dog, who was not injured during the incident.
The officer took King to an animal care facility in Roslindale, where he will remain during a bite quarantine, officials said.
King will face a dangerousness hearing, which could result in additional restraint, muzzling, required liability insurance, or euthanasia.
