Man arrested after allegedly stabbing neighbor in neck in Worcester

The victim was alert and conscious when taken to the hospital, police said.

A man was arrested after allegedly stabbing his neighbor during an argument, Worcester police said. 

Kenneth Benson, 38, is charged with assault to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon after allegedly stabbing a man in the throat on Saturday, the Worcester Police Department said in a statement Monday. 

Police responded to June Street at around 10:15 a.m. Saturday for reports of a fight among neighbors, according to the statement. 

The victim was found with a laceration to his throat, police said. He was alert and conscious when he was taken to the hospital, according to police.

Benson was found in his apartment and arrested without incident. He was arraigned Monday and ordered held without bail, 7 News WHDH reported.
