A father and son are dead following a car crash in Milford on Friday.
State police responded to the report of the two-car rollover crash on I-495 just before noon. Police said the preliminary investigation indicates that for reasons still being determined, a Lexus SUV that was traveling southbound came into contact with a Nissan Juke and then went off the highway, striking a tree and rolling over.
Louis Marano, 90, of Franklin, was a passenger in the Lexus. He died at the scene, police said.
The driver of the SUV was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, according to police. According to Marano’s obituary, his son 62-year-old Anthony “Tony” Marano died Saturday from the injuries he received in the crash.
The family is holding a joint funeral for the father and son on Saturday in Franklin.
Police said the driver of the Nissan was also hospitalized with minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation, police said.
