These were the most popular baby names in Massachusetts for 2023

There's a new top baby girl name.

Massachusetts’ list of most popular baby names for 2023 has been released.

Charlotte and Noah topped the list for Massachusetts in 2023, according to the Social Security Administration’s list of most popular baby names.

The SSA collected the data from Social Security card application data and ranked names based on the baby’s sex assigned at birth, according to their website.

Noah has been the most popular male baby name in Massachusetts since 2020, according to previous data from the SSA. Charlotte, which has come second to the name Olivia since 2019, is now the most popular female baby name in the state for 2023.

In January, Boston officials released the list of most popular baby names in the city in 2023. The most popular names were Olivia and Liam — both of which rank second on the state’s list for 2023.
