Officials have identified the body of a man that was recovered after a boat was found crashed against the rocks at Little Misery Island off Salem over the weekend.
The man was 65-year-old John Masiz from Gloucester, according to a spokesperson for the Essex District Attorney’s Office. The investigation into his death is ongoing pending autopsy results, the spokesperson said.
A boat was found crashed at Little Misery Island on Saturday evening, and after a search by the U.S. Coast Guard and multiple local harbormasters, Masiz’s body was found later that night.
No foul play is suspected, the D.A.’s office said.
