Man who allegedly drove onto golf course in Hopkinton turns himself in

An arrest warrant had been issued for Ian Mahoney, 27, of Princeton.

Hopkinton Police Department

The driver accused of driving onto the green at a local golf course, causing damage and nearly striking several golfers, has turned himself in to police, authorities announced.

Hopkinton police had asked for the public’s help identifying the driver in the incident on May 3 at the Hopkinton Country Club.

On Monday, the department said that as a result of the “effort from the community” and detectives a suspect, 27-year-old Ian Mahoney of Princeton, was identified and a warrant issued for his arrest.

Police said Mahoney has turned himself in to Framingham District Court but did not specify what charges he is facing.
