A tractor-trailer crash in central Maine Thursday evening generated a lot of buzz.

Sorry.

The truck was hauling about 15 million bees when it overturned on Interstate 95 in Clinton around 7 p.m., Maine State Police said. The driver, who was taken to the hospital with “complaints of pain,” was taking the bees to Washington County where they were set to pollinate blueberry fields.

“The bees were mostly contained, and the goal was to save them,” police said.
