A person flying out of Boston’s Logan Airport was stopped by Transportation Security Administration officers who discovered 10 throwing knives in the passenger’s carry-on luggage, the agency said.
“Just a reminder, if you have a set of throwing knives…you need to pack them in your checked bag!” Dan Velez, a spokesman for TSA New England, wrote on X, sharing a photo of the knives.
Velez did not say whether the traveler was detained or facing any criminal charges.

According to the TSA website, the only knives allowed in a carry-on are those with rounded or blunt edges without serration, such as a butter knife or plastic cutlery. TSA officers at the security checkpoints have the “final decision” on whether an item is allowed to go through, according to the agency.
“Any sharp objects in checked bags should be sheathed or securely wrapped to prevent injury to baggage handlers and inspectors,” the website reads.
