An investigation is underway after a couple of Easton residents found what appear to be human remains in a stream this week.
Easton police received a report Wednesday shortly before 1 p.m. that the residents saw what looked to be a human skull in a creek near their property in the area of 100 Summer St., according to separate statements from police Chief Keith Boone and the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
During another search of the area on Thursday, authorities found more human bones, the district attorney’s office said. Investigators will continue searching the area, the release noted.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner collected the remains and will test them to confirm whether they are actually human over the coming days and weeks, officials noted.
No further information was immediately available. An investigation by local and state police remains ongoing.
