One dead, one seriously injured in early morning Needham crash

Three of four southbound lanes on Route 95 were closed for two hours after the incident, police said.

State Police are investigating after an early morning car accident Tuesday killed one person and seriously injured another.

The incident occurred at 4:40 a.m. Tuesday, when two pickup trucks crashed on Route 95 south near Exit 33 in Needham, according to a press release by State Police.

One driver was killed and another was seriously injured, according to the release.

Investigation shows that one of the trucks went “out of control” and was perpendicular to oncoming traffic when it was broadsided by the second truck.

The driver of the vehicle that was broadsided, or T-boned, was the one who died, police said. The driver of the second car was taken to the hospital.
