Boston police launched a death investigation after a man was shot and killed near Blue Hill Avenue in Mattapan early Saturday morning, police said.
Boston police shared on Facebook that officers responded to Blue Hill Avenue and Fremont Street around 4:44 a.m. Saturday where a man was suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds.
He was transported to a local hospital where he later died, according to police.
The man was not publicly identified.
Boston police said the investigation is ongoing, and anyone with any information is asked to call their homicide unit at 617-343-4470. Any anonymous tips can be sent to the CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1-800-494-TIPS or by texting the word “TIP” to CRIME (27463).
