Motorcyclist hurt in Danvers crash has died, police say

"His whole family is shocked and devastated by such a tragic loss of someone so young and so loved."

A motorcyclist injured in a crash in Danvers succumbed to his injuries this weekend.

Shortly before 7 p.m. on Friday, the motorcyclist was riding eastbound on Maple Street when the driver of a Honda Accord made a left turn onto the road from Poplar Street and struck them, a preliminary investigation by authorities indicates, a spokesperson for state police said by email.

First responders transported the operator of the motorcycle to Beverly Hospital with “severe injuries” on Friday, but he was later pronounced dead, according to state police.

Family and friends identified the motorcyclist as Daniel Robichau in a GoFundMe.

“His whole family is shocked and devastated by such a tragic loss of someone so young and so loved,” reads the GoFundMe page, which was created to raise money for Robichau’s memorial service.

Boston.com has reached out to Danvers police to confirm the identity of the motorcyclist and to ask whether the driver of the Honda will face any charges.

The crash remains under investigation by Danvers police with help from state police.
