Bus stuck on Storrow Drive closes two lanes for hours

A charter bus got stuck under an overpass on Storrow Drive Sunday morning, closing two lanes of traffic for more than two hours.

Traffic was stalled early Sunday morning for Storrow Drive drivers when a bus struck an overpass near Longfellow Bridge, officials said.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation said the bus “storrowed” around 8:30 a.m. Sunday morning. The incident forced the two right lanes of eastbound traffic to close.

A charter bus appears to have gotten stuck under the overpass, images of the incident show.

The scene was cleared just after 11 a.m., and all lanes were reopened, MassDOT said.
