Are you missing a feline fashionista?
A kitten sporting a strawberry dress was found Monday in Everett, curled up in a driveway near the Parlin School. The gray and white cat, which has a heart-shaped spot across her nose, is being called “Strawberry,” the name given to her by the young good Samaritan who found her, until her family comes forward, Everett animal control wrote on Facebook.
“She loves to lay in the [animal control officer’s] lap and grab her hand with her paw until she gets some cuddles,” animal control wrote. “This kitten is extremely affectionate and a family must be missing her.”
Stacia Gorgone, the city’s animal control officer, told The Boston Globe the kitten is about 3 months old and is declawed.
“Strawberry” is stressed and staying with Gorgone while the search for her family continues, according to the newspaper. But if her owners don’t come forward in a week, Gorgone told the Globe the kitten will be put up for adoption.
The young girl who found the kitten has asked to be first in the line of potential adopters, according to the newspaper.
Anyone who knows the kitten is being urged to reach out to Everett police dispatch at 617-387-1212 or by emailing the animal control officer at [email protected].
