The mother of a 3-year-old boy who died Sunday in Chelsea is being charged in connection with his death, authorities said Tuesday.

Jennifer Prudencio, 25, of Chelsea has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and reckless endangerment of a child, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office said in a statement

Police were called on Sunday morning to Prudencio’s apartment on Spencer Avenue where they found the 3-year-old, Yael Guardado-Prudencio, unresponsive.

Prosecutors said details in the case will be released at Prudencio’s arraignment on Wednesday.

“The death of someone so young is a tragedy beyond words. My heart goes out to all who knew and loved this young boy, and to the police and emergency services personnel who responded to the scene that sad morning,” Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden said in a statement.
