Stow police are investigating a suspicious death, according to officials.
Around 4:30 p.m. Friday, police responded to a call for a well-being check on Great Road in Stow, according to a statement from the District Attorney’s office.
Police said they attempted to enter the home, but a resident, Shane Curry, 20, prevented them. Curry stopped police from entering the home for two hours, according to officials.
When police finally entered the home, they said they found a 17-year-old girl, who was later identified as Curry’s girlfriend, Neveah Goddard, dead. She was also a resident of the home, according to police.
Curry was arrested by police and transported to an area hospital to be evaluated.
He has been charged with assault and battery on a household or family member as well as assault and battery causing serious bodily injury, according to officials.
An autopsy will be performed on Goddard’s body to determine the cause and manner of death.
Curry is set to be arraigned on Monday in Concord District Court, and Goddard’s death remains under investigation.
