A Brockton man who was wanted by police in connection with the murder of his brother earlier this week was arrested Tuesday in Lewiston, Maine.
Jeremiah Abreu, 20, will be charged with fatally shooting his brother, 27-year-old Sedrick Abreu, the Plymouth County District Attorney’s office said in a statement.
Brockton police responded on Sunday around 2:17 a.m. to a call reporting a shooting inside a house at 36 Hoover Ave. in Brockton, according to the D.A.’s office. At the scene, they found Sederick Abreu, suffering from a gunshot to the chest. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police arrested Sirick Amado, 24, and Antonio Dejesus, 26. They are charged with accessory to homicide in connection to the shooting. Both pleaded not guilty at their arraignments on Monday and were held without bail pending the outcome of a Thursday dangerousness hearing, the district attorney’s office said.
The district attorney’s office said Jeremiah Abreu will be arraigned on a murder charge in Brockton District Court.
