Driver killed after car crashes into utility pole in Carver

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.

A 56-year-old woman died Wednesday after her car crashed into a utility pole in Carver. 

Police, fire, and EMS responded to the report of the crash in the area of 240 Maine St. at 5:38 a.m., according to Carver police. The 56-year-old woman, a Carver resident, was the only occupant of the vehicle that crashed into the utility pole.

Police said she was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth where she was pronounced dead. 

Boston 25 News reports that the utility pole snapped in half in the crash.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing, police said.
