AG: police officer shoots, injures man in Hampstead, N.H.

Authorities said the incident remains under active investigation.

Authorities are investigating a shooting involving a police officer that occurred Monday afternoon in Hampstead, New Hampshire, that left a man hospitalized. 

The shooting took place at a residence and an adult man was wounded and taken to a local hospital, the New Hampshire Attorney General’s office said in a statement. 

“No officers have been physically injured,” the office said. “At this time, it appears all involved parties have been identified, and there is currently no known threat to the public.”

The exact circumstances of the shooting remain under investigation, authorities said.
