A woman was on her way to a hospital when she gave birth to a baby boy on the Tobin Bridge Monday morning.
State Police got a call about a woman in labor on the Tobin Bridge at about 10:10 a.m. Monday, a spokesperson for State Police said. Medical personnel with Armstrong EMS were on the scene helping the woman when troopers arrived.
Cataldo Ambulance EMTs took over care of the woman and her son and took them to Mass General Hospital under State Police escort.
The woman was being driven to the hospital by her husband when she gave birth, police said.
The woman and the baby are reported to be doing well.
