A Massachusetts man’s body was found following a car crash in Pennsylvania after he went missing late last month, officials say.
Timothy Kravchenko’s body was found on Sunday in Girard Township, Clearfield County Coroner Kim Shaffer Snyder said in a statement to Boston.com. An autopsy was conducted Monday and a cause of death may take six to eight weeks to determine, Snyder said.
Kravchenko, 19, went missing after being involved in a “minor motor vehicle accident” in Clearfield, Pa. on Feb. 25, Pennsylvania State Police said in an initial report. The collision occurred in Girard Township.
He left the vehicle and the scene of the crash before police arrived and had not been heard from since, according to police.
Kravchenko traveled to Pennsylvania on Feb. 24 from Chicopee, Mass. He was not familiar with the area and did not have a phone to contact anyone, according to the police report.
Police said he could have still been in the Lecontes Mills area, an unincorporated community in Clearfield County, in the days following his disappearance.
Kravchenko was described as 5’10” and 185 pounds, with blue eyes and curly brown hair.
Pennsylvania State Police were working with Chicopee police to find Kravchenko, according to the report.
