Update: Boston police said on Monday evening that Huria had been found safe.
Milton police are searching for a missing 18-year-old.
Mimmi Huria, a Milton resident who attends a boarding high school in Maine, disappeared Saturday around 12:15 p.m. after taking a bus from her school to South Station to meet her family for school break, according to police.
A Black woman with dark eyes and black medium-length hair, Huria stands about 5 feet, 4 inches tall and has a slim build, police said.
She was reportedly last seen wearing a black coat and khaki pants with red pants underneath, and she may have had a head scarf, as well. Her travel items included two pieces of luggage and a guitar case, authorities noted.
Police confirmed that Huria exited the bus at South Station this weekend and was last seen near Dewey Square.
Her father told NBC10 Boston that he went to pick her up Saturday and was unable to find her, adding that he believes her phone may have been dead.
“We are really praying that she returns home to us safely. We are so heartbroken. We are just really concerned where she is we don’t know where she is,” Huria’s father told the news station.
Authorities ask anyone with any information to contact Milton police at 617-698-1212.
An investigation by Milton police remains ongoing with the help of the Transit Police Department.
