Authorities identify man and woman found dead in Haverhill in apparent murder-suicide

Authorities on Monday released the names of the man and woman found shot to death in Haverhill in what investigators say was an apparent murder-suicide. 

Haverhill police responded to 195 Broadway on Sunday just before 6 p.m. for a well-being check, according to the Essex County District Attorney’s office. At the scene, the officers found Loren Marino, 24, of Haverhill and Austin Amaral, 24, of North Providence, Rhode Island, dead from gunshot wounds. 

The DA’s office said the preliminary investigation indicates the two had been dating and their deaths are an apparent-murder suicide. 

The investigation into their deaths is ongoing, according to officials.
