Man has died after being hit while riding motor scooter in Roslindale, police say

The man was hit in the area of Washington Street and Bexley Road Tuesday night, police said.

A man has died after being hit by a car while riding a motor scooter in Roslindale Tuesday night, police said Wednesday. 

Boston police responded at about 6:45 p.m. Tuesday to reports of a pedestrian struck in the area of Washington Street and Bexley Road. Responders located a man who had been “struck off his scooter” and was suffering life-threatening injuries, Boston police spokesperson Jason Villanueva said in a statement.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and has since died, Villanueva said. 

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene. The incident is under investigation by the fatal accident team, police said.

Video of the accident by WCVB shows the motor scooter lying in the road after the crash. Parts of the bumper of the allegedly involved car, which appears to be a silver or gray Toyota Corolla, are seen on video detached from the car and on the ground.

No further information was available as of Wednesday afternoon.
