Peabody police locate 12-year-old girl missing since Sunday

Iris Matul is described as Native American with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black shirt and pants, a grey sweater, and white Adidas sneakers, police said.

Update: State Police announced at about 6:15 p.m. Tuesday that Matul has been located.

Peabody police are searching for a 12-year-old girl who was reported missing on Sunday. 

Iris Matul, 12, was reported missing to the Peabody Police Department from The Holiday Inn at 1 Newbury St. in Peabody, police said in a statement. 

Matul is described as Native American, with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black shirt and pants, a grey sweater, white Adidas sneakers, and a backpack with a VANS logo on it, police said. 

Matul was entered into the National Crime Information Center as a missing child. Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to contact Peabody police at 978-531-1212 or email [email protected]
