A man died after crashing into a tree on Route 105 Sunday afternoon, Middleborough officials said.
Middleborough police and fire departments responded to Thompson Street south of Plain Street for a report of a serious crash at about 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, officials said in a press release.
First responders found a car had crashed into a tree. The sole occupant of the vehicle, a 66-year-old Middleborough man, was pronounced dead on the scene, officials said.
Thompson Street was closed to traffic between Plain Street and Precinct Street as a result of the accident, the press release said. The road appeared to be open again Sunday night, according to Mass511.
Middleborough police along with the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and Crime Prevention and Control Unit are investigating the crash, police said.
