A Chelsea man was arrested in connection with a deadly hit-and-run two months ago in Charlestown near Encore Boston Harbor casino, Boston police said.
22-year-old Jaydon A. Colon was taken into custody Friday morning on Carter Street in Chelsea. The Boston Police Department Fugitive Unit made the arrest, police said.
Colon appeared in court later that day, where he pleaded not guilty to charges including motor vehicle homicide by reckless operation, manslaughter operating under the influence, and leaving the scene.
Back in December, a pedestrian was struck and killed at around 3 a.m. on Dec. 18 at the intersection of Alford and Dexter streets outside the casino. The driver fled the scene, and the pedestrian who was killed was not identified.
Colon posted bail but was ordered to stay away from the involved victims and witnesses, to surrender his passport, to stay sober with monitoring, and to stay in Massachusetts. His next court appearance is in April.
