Five transported, one by helicopter, after Foxborough crash involving ambulance

A car crash with an ambulance led to an elementary school- aged girl being transported to the hospital by MedFlight.

Five people were transported to the hospital after a Honda Pilot collided with an ambulance in Foxborough Thursday night.

The incident occurred at 7 p.m. on Thursday. Foxborough and state police and a prosecutor for the Norfolk District Attorney’s motor vehicle homicide and major crash unit responded to the scene, as well as additional emergency services, according to a release from the Norfolk D.A.’s office.

Among the five people injured, an elementary school-aged child who was in the back seat of the Honda Pilot was medically evacuated by helicopter for “advanced treatment,” according to the release.

Also injured were the child’s mother and driver of the Honda, age 40, two emergency medical technicians in their mid-20s, and a 70-year-old patient who was in the ambulance for transport at the time of the crash. 

The incident is still under investigation, and no charges had had been issued as of Friday morning, according to authorities.
