With portions of the Green Line’s B, C, and D branches closed for track work until March 8, commuters are being offered credit to use Bluebikes during the MBTA’s service disruption.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts and the City of Boston are providing $20 credits — redeemable for both their traditional bikes and their recently introduced ebikes — for the duration of the shutdowns on the Green Line.

According to Blue Cross Blue Shield, which is the title sponsor of the bikeshare company that is owned by 13 municipalities in Greater Boston and operated by Lyft, the credits can only be used until March 8. The credit, which can be accessed using the code MBTA2024, can be used by anyone in the system, regardless of residency.

The MBTA has warned travelers on the Green Line to expect disruptions to service during the closures, which began Tuesday. Shuttle buses are replacing service between Copley and Babcock Street on the B line, between Copley and Cleveland Circle on the C line, and between Copley and Brookline Hills on the D line.
