Police are investigating the theft from a New Hampshire dealership of two cars, each worth more than $76,000, that were later recovered in Boston.

The theft was reported by Foss Motors, located at 133 Portsmouth Ave. in Exeter, N.H., just after 7:30 a.m. on Saturday. According to Exeter police, surveillance video captured two suspects getting out of a Jeep Grand Cherokee in the dealership’s parking lot and walking toward three Dodge SRT Hellcats. A white 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody and a red 2021 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat were stolen from the lot. Police said a third vehicle was found with a shattered driver’s side rear window.

“The suspects, who did not have keys to the stolen vehicles, may have used an electronic device to gain access and start them,” police said.

Exeter police learned during the course of the investigation that Boston police responded to the Hilton Boston Back Bay around 3:17 a.m. on Saturday when a hotel employee reported that a Dodge Challenger had driven through a gate in the parking lot.

According to police, hotel security told investigators that three men dressed in black entered the parking lot adjacent to the hotel. One of the men approached the staff and told them he had delivered food to the hotel and wasn’t able to pay the fee to get out of the garage. When he was told the charge could not be reversed, the man, accompanied by another person, drove through the gate and fled the garage.

Police said the vehicle was later found in the nearby Hynes Auditorium parking garage. The stolen Dodge Charger was found in a Sheraton hotel parking garage with stolen commercial Massachusetts plates.

“The case remains under investigation,” police said. “Anyone with information is asked to call the Exeter Police Department at 603-772-1212.”
