Man hospitalized after being hit by fire truck in Dorchester

The 34-year-old victim sustained life-threatening injuries but was still alive as of 5:30 p.m., officials said.

A man sustained life-threatening injuries after being hit by a firetruck in Dorchester Wednesday, police said. 

The man was struck shortly before 12:30 p.m. near 121 Bowdoin St., a spokesperson for the Boston Police Department said. 

The victim, who is 34 years old, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries but was still alive as of about 5:30 p.m., the Office of Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden said in a statement. 

The man may have been attempting suicide, NBC 10 reported

No further information was available.
