Authorities responded to a shooting at a trailer park in Danvers Monday that involved an armed, barricaded suspect. A female victim was rushed to a hospital, police said. The suspect was later arrested.
State Police troopers and local police officers responded to a trailer park at 98 Newbury St. Monday afternoon. Route 1, also known as Newbury Street in the area, was shut down to traffic, police said in a social media post just after 1 p.m.
The incident involved a “barricaded and likely armed suspect,” police said. Members of the public were asked to avoid the area.

Police said around 1:30 p.m. that a female was shot and was transported to a hospital.
Police believed a male suspect was barricaded inside a trailer at that time. A tactical team from the Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (NEMLEC) was on the scene assisting State Police troopers and Danvers Police officers.
State Police said around 2:15 p.m. that the suspect was taken into custody.
A nearby daycare center was evacuated, WHDH reported.
