Bicyclist fatally hit by garbage truck in Allston

A bicyclist was fatally hit by a garbage truck in Allston on Tuesday morning, according to Sgt. Det. John Boyle, a spokesperson for the Boston Police Department.

First responders arrived at the scene near the intersection of Hano and Cambridge streets at approximately 10:07 a.m. The cyclist, an adult man, was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead, Boyle said.

The truck driver remained at the scene, according to Boyle.

Police are not sharing the victim’s name with the public at this time. An investigation into his death is ongoing.
