Dorchester woman arrested in alleged road rage stabbing outside Newton ice rink

Authorities say Imani Abraham followed the man to the parking lot off Nonantum Road after their vehicles almost came into contact on I-93 in Dorchester.

A Dorchester woman is facing assault charges in connection with an alleged road rage stabbing that occurred in the parking lot of a Newton ice rink last week.

Imani Abraham, 27, was arrested Wednesday afternoon at her job in Braintree, according to state police. She has been charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Police responded on May 4 around 9:16 p.m. to the report of a stabbing in the parking lot of the Daly Memorial Rink on Nonantum Road. Police say Abraham followed a 32-year-old Quincy man to the parking lot of the Newton rink after their vehicles almost came into contact on I-93 in Dorchester. In the parking lot, she allegedly got out of her car and stabbed the man before getting back in her vehicle and driving away.

Police said investigators determined Abraham’s involvement after identifying her vehicle.

The Quincy man, who told troopers he’d driven to the rink to play soccer on a nearby field, was treated at a local hospital for a stab wound that was not life-threatening, according to police.

Abraham was arraigned in Newton District Court on Wednesday, where she was held pending a Monday dangerousness hearing, according to CBS Boston

Prosecutors said she has an open case for a “similar” incident, according to the station.
