BIDDEFORD, Maine (AP) — Two people were killed after being hit by an Amtrak train in the southern Maine town of Biddeford on Sunday, police have confirmed.
An Amtrak representative stated the individuals were trespassing on the tracks when they came into contact with the train, WGME reported. “Amtrak is working with local law enforcement to investigate the incident,” the representative said.
The two individuals were hit Sunday around 11 a.m. The passengers on the train traveling from Portland to Boston were moved to another train, police said.
