Authorities identify Boston man killed in Roxbury shooting

David Wood, 51, of Boston died Wednesday morning near the Trotter Elementary School.

The man who was shot and killed near a Roxbury elementary school last week has been identified by authorities as 51-year-old David Wood of Boston.

Boston police said officers responded to a call for a person shot in the area of Wabeno and Wyoming streets around 11:40 a.m. on Wednesday. At the scene near the Trotter Elementary School, officers found Wood suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He died at the scene. 

Police said the investigation into Wood’s killing remains active and ongoing.
