Less than two weeks after hateful graffiti was discovered at Middleborough High School, a teacher and student at Brookline High School walked into a classroom to find hate-based graffiti.
According to an email from Head of School Anthony Meyer, school officials believe the graffiti was put up sometime after 4 p.m. Tuesday and before 8:15 a.m. Wednesday.
“This sickening display of hate will not be tolerated and we are opening a full scale investigation in cooperation with the Brookline police,” Meyer wrote.
Meyer also said the student and teacher who discovered the graffiti are being supported and the superintendent’s office is aware of the incident.
Students or staff with any information about the incident are encouraged to report it to a dean or Meyer.
“Students please report any chatter you may be hearing about this or anything you might see on social media to your dean or trusted adult,” Meyer wrote. “Your help is essential to finding the person responsible for this hate.”
Late last month, hateful messages and symbols were found spray-painted around the perimeter of Middleborough High School, according to WCVB.
The schools director of facilities discovered the vandalism the morning of March 27, according to the station, and the graffiti included hateful language and imagery, including a swastika.
